That's really odd.  Which version of the Orca tar.gz package are
you using?  The problem may be that the start_orcallator checks
to see if orcallator is already running.  But in the current version
it looks for a process with the word orcallator.se in it, so even
if orca is running, orcallator should start.

Can you try running the S99 and K?? scripts from the command
line as root?  You don't need to reboot the computer to get this
working.  I would try stopping all the orcallator and orca processes
using the K?? scripts and then running the S99 scripts in the order
they appear in your rcX.d directory.  It should be possible to
see why orcallator is then not starting.
