[Orca-users] Linux install problem

I'm trying to install orca-snapshot-r497 on an i686 box with Fedora 4 and
"make" appears to break with what looks like rrdtool needs gcc3 (Fedora 4
installs gcc 4.0.1 and Perl 5.8.6). Indeed, the rrdtool Makefile includes
"depmode=gcc3" in two places.

Here are the last lines of the "make" attempt:

../src/config_aux.h:80:2: error: #error "Can't compile without finite
function"
../src/config_aux.h:84:2: error: #error "Can't compile without isinf
function"
make[5]: *** [RRDs.o] Error 1
make[5]: Leaving directory
`/home/mkent/orca-snapshot-r497/packages/rrdtool-1.0.50/perl-shared'
make[4]: *** [perl_shared] Error 2
make[4]: Leaving directory
`/home/mkent/orca-snapshot-r497/packages/rrdtool-1.0.50'
make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory
`/home/mkent/orca-snapshot-r497/packages/rrdtool-1.0.50'
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory
`/home/mkent/orca-snapshot-r497/packages/rrdtool-1.0.50'
make[1]: *** [make_rrdtool] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/mkent/orca-snapshot-r497/packages'
make: *** [all] Error 1

Any suggestions? rrdtool 1,0.40 can be installed with apt-get, but that
won't fix this problem.
