[Svnmerge] Error during "svnmerge.py init"

I find this is a problem with the version of python used.  Running a
2.3.4 version on redhat es4, problem.  Running 2.4 on the same
machine/working directory, no problem.

(BTW, this is with the latest svnmerge.py from trunk, give or take a
revision.)
